Two local teams are left standing in the VHSL basketball playoffs, and their journey is now going to take them a long way from home.
Albemarle, the No. 3 seed out of Region 5A North, is headed to Old Dominion’s Ted Constant Center Friday at 7:15 p.m. to take on the No. 2 seed out of Region 5A South Hampton High.
Western Albemarle, the No. 4 seed out Region 3A West, is headed to ODU as well, this time on Saturday night for an 8:30 p.m. tip with I.C. Norcom, the No. 1 seed out of Region 3A East.
Both squads will be looking to try and advance to the state semifinals held in Richmond the following week.
