Strong second half lifts STAB

St. Anne’s-Belfield’s boys lacrosse team needed a surge, and one of their talented young midfielders gave it to them.

With three fourth quarter goals, including the final two by sophomore Josh Reiss, STAB rallied from being down two goals early in the second half to beat St. Xavier (KY) 10-8.

The Saints trailed 6-5 at the break, and early Xavier goal pushed that lead to 7-5. Down the stretch though, the Saints pulled away, with the 3-0 run in the final frame sealing the game as part of a 5-1 closing run.

Phillip Robertson finished with two goals and an assist for STAB, while Reiss notched a hat trick. Javon Johnston also got in on the scoring act with three goals of his own and Rob Schotta and Austin Park notched a goal each. Christopher Woodfolk had an assist for the Saints.
