Saints take care of business

St. Anne’s-Belfield is picking up a major head of steam in the early stages of the postseason, and Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took the brunt of that momentum Tuesday afternoon in the VISAA Division II quarterfinals.

No.1-seeded STAB rolled No. 8 NSA 18-2, taking a huge lead in the first half that initiated a running clock before the break. Addi Bolin led all scorers with five goals. She got a big boost from teammate Lila Satterfield’s own five-point night as Satterfield piled up three goals and two assists.

Julia Haney notched a pair of goals while Kate McCullough chipped in two more and dished out one assist.

The Saints had six other players score a single goal each.

STAB’s Catherine Towers piled up 10 saves.

The Saints get a break for a couple of days before heading east to take on the winner of the Covenant/Steward quarterfinal at Old Dominion University in Norfolk for an 11:30 a.m. semifinal at ODU.
