Monticello girls lacrosse blasts past Culpeper

Monticello girls lacrosse’s offense picked up where it left off Monday night against Eastern View as the Mustangs dropped Culpeper 18-7 at home Wednesday.

Paige McGlothlin got the Mustangs’ offense started less than three minutes into the game, and she didn’t slow down after that, piling up seven goals for Monticello. She rang up that total efficiently too, scoring on seven of nine total shots on the night. She also had three draw controls for good measure. McGlothlin was a big reason the Mustangs were up 12-4 by halftime.

As usual, Summer Larese also helped ignite the attack as the 2015 All-Group 4A first teamer poured in five goals and dished out four assists. Larese also had a huge impact on the draw with seven total controls.

Josie Mallory, Megan Passarell, Mackenzie Trainor, Evie Maxwell and Jenna Moody each chipped in a goal as well as part of the Mustangs’ onslaught. Maxwell, Trainor and Mattlie Caroline Lee had an assist each with Trainor also notching three draw controls and a team-high three ground balls.

Goalie Carly Harris had seven saves for the Mustangs.
