Charlottesville’s girls basketball team got it done with balance Friday night, with four players scoring in double figures as the Black Knights beat Western Albemarle 59-50.

Alaijah Ragland finished with 15 points and Destinee McDonald had 13 while Daeja Wade and Kajesha Taylor had 12 points each.

That balance allowed Charlottesville to keep Western at bay throughout the contest, building a 10-point halftime lead that essentially held up throughout despite a 20-point outburst by Natalie Marbury. Julia Haws finished with 12 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. Eleri Hayden chipped in six points.

The Warriors will try and bounce back Tuesday when they host Fluvanna County. The Black Knights will host Orange the same night.
