Albemarle’s girls lacrosse team had everything working against Potomac in the Northwest Conference quarterfinals on Thursday. Nine different scorers got in the mix as the Patriots rolled 15-3 and advanced to the conference semifinals.

The Patriots went on a 7-goal run to close out the first half and build a 10-2 lead before the break. Albemarle made a series of stops during that stretch on the defensive end and took things up a notch with some fluid transition movement, creating easy goals with crisp passes.

Morgan Rose scored four goals and had an assist on the afternoon for the Patriots and Anna Murray finished with a hat trick, an assist and a team-high six draw controls. Lindsey Earles had five draws as well as a goal. Lizzy  Chapman finished with two goals. Cam Edson and Summer Maxwell each had two assists. Gwen Pattison, Sophia Krouse, Kelsey Myers, Caroline Littman and Angie Chapman all had a goal.

Haley Williamson finished with three saves in the cage, the Patriots finished with 10 forced turnovers.

Albemarle advances to the conference semifinals where they’ll face the winner of the Patrick Henry-Roanoke/North Stafford quarterfinal Monday. Albemarle will host the semifinal as the No. 2 seed in the conference.
