In the second round of the Conference 29 girls tennis tournament, Western Albemarle took down Fort Defiance 5-0 to advance to the championship.
At the top of the ladder, Emily Kochard earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Noelle Witherow. In the two spot Maddy Ix cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Whitney Kiser. Fourth seeded Stephanie Barton defeated Ashlet Crickenberger 6-2, 6-4 and at five, Maggie Roesch won over Rachel Miller with the same score. At six, Savannah Diamond rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Maya Simmons. At fourth Stephanie Barton did not have to finish after winning her first set over Carly Win 6-4.
At 18-0 the Warriors will host the next round of the tournament on Thursday with a time and opponent TBD.
