Western girls post cuts at FUMA invite

The Western Albemarle girls swim and dive team won the FUMA Sprint Invitational with a score of 587 points with Charlottesville High checking in in second place in the nine team field with 473 points. 

Emma McKinley and Natalie Cronk paced the Warriors with both winning two events while Seana Acker had a win and a runner-up finish. Katie Shepard also picked up a win for the Warriors in diving. 

For Charlottesville, Brodde Lamb was a double event winner. Five swimmers earned state qualifying times:

For Western Albemarle, Emma McKinley (100 free and 200 free), Anna Corley (100 free), Elsa Strickland (200 free) and Natalie Cronk (50 free and 100 free) made cuts. Charlottesville’s Storrs Lamb (50 free) picked up a qualifying time as well.
