Western Albemarle has incorporated a slew of new faces into the lineup early this year, showing the depth that’s led Western to four-straight state finals.
While five of the top six singles players return for the Warriors, Western is playing a lot of younger players during many matches, including a 9-0 victory over a scrappy Fluvanna County program Thursday that should contend in the top half of the Jefferson District.
Regular starter Tom Lewis got the win at No. 1 singles over Johnnie Goldie and the Warriors swept from there.
