Western boys soccer blanks Charlottesville

Putting together its eighth shutout of the year, the Western Albemarle boys soccer team picked up a 2-0 home win over Charlottesville on Thursday night.

Penalty kicks were the theme of the game with Warriors goalkeeper Kai Shin keeping the Black Knights off the scoreboard on their attempt 15 minutes in the game while teammate Aaron Myers put Western up 1-0 on his PK just 10 minutes later. Myers also tallied the second goal of the game before the end of the first half off of a pass from Will Odom.

The Warriors (10-0-3, 8-0-2 Jefferson) travel to Monticello on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
