Western Albemarle boys soccer takes care of Waynesboro

After tying Albemarle last Monday on the first day of the season, the Western Albemarle boys soccer stepped back out of the regular season and had a few scrimmages. On Wednesday they jumped back into regulation play and picked up a 5-1 road victory over Waynesboro.

The Little Giants jumped on the board first when Sawyer James scored, but the Warriors stormed back quickly, scoring their five goals on just 13 shots.

Senior Alex Nolet led the way offensively with his hat trick, giving him four goals in two games this year. Fellow senior and last year’s leading scorer, Aaron Meyers, picked up the other two goals for Western. Will Odom, Ryan Elliot, Linge Sun and Lane Gearhart all had an assist each.

Western will open up Jefferson District play when it hosts Louisa County on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
