STAB girls wrap up 9th straight title

St. Anne’s wrapped up its ninth straight LIS Division I tournament championship Friday evening with a terrific second quarter explosion and another stat-sheet filling effort from Sarah Imovbioh. The Saints dropped St. Catherine’s 54-38 to win the title.

St. Anne’s poured in 16 points while holding St. Catherine’s to just one in the second quarter, and kept the run going in the third, winning that frame 21-9. That’s a 37-10 stretch in a league title game.

Sarah Imovbioh poured in 30 points and hauled down 22 rebounds to go with five blocks and four steals. Imovbioh continues her quiet assault on the record books, as she’s just one point shy of 1,000 points after just 42 games at St. Anne’s.

Addi Bolin had 14 points and three steals, helping fuel a strong defensive performance by the Saints.

STAB is slated to start state tournament play next week.
