STAB girls lacrosse set for restart

St. Anne’s-Belfield’s girls lacrosse team has to get started Saturday morning all over again.

After STAB, the No. 1 seed in the Division II state tournament, jumped out to a 7-2 lead over Cape Henry in the semifinals, lightning forced a delay with just seven minutes to go in the first half.

Because of lacrosse’s rain rule that the game has to be restarted if 80 percent of the game isn’t complete, STAB will start over at 0-0 at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Highland won the other semifinal, and the championship game is now slated for a 2 p.m. Sunday start.
