STAB blows out Steward in state semifinal

St. Anne’s-Belfield’s girls lacrosse team made short work of Steward Friday afternoon, rolling 24-8 over the Spartans to secure a berth in the VISAA Division II final.

Five Saints notched four or more goal games as STAB unleashed an offensive assault. Corrina Coffin led the way for the Saints with a remarkable four goal, four assist performance. Steward couldn’t find an answer for Coffin or Addi Bolin and Trent Holden, who each poured in five goals.

Katie McCullough and Lila Satterfied rounded out the offensive punch with four goal games.

Julia Haney and Maggie Kalagher notched a goal each.

Catherine Towers managed six saves.

If the Saints can pull off a victory Saturday at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, it’ll be STAB’s third straight state title. They face Cape Henry in the final at 11 a.m.
