Spring Roundup 5.5.16: Western boys tennis, Monroe girls soccer earn wins

William Monroe’s girls soccer team beat Eastern View Wednesday to pick up a solid road victory.

 

The Dragons won 4-1 with Kayla Burton and Juliet Karnes each scoring twice to spark the offense. Karnes was a factor on three of Monroe’s goals as she chipped in an assist on one of Burton’s tallies. Rachel DeMasters assisted Burton once and Karnes on another goal while Kristin Manz assisted on Karnes other score.

 

Western girls lacrosse blows past Fluvanna

 

Western Albemarle’s girls lacrosse team made short work of Fluvanna County Wednesday night, rolling 13-1 over the Flucos.

 

Kate Snyder and Sammie Magargee each had hat tricks and Magargee added an assist. Hannah Schuler and Kira Repich chipped in two goals apiece. Hannah Curry, Anne Patterson and Hannah Plantz scored once with Patterson chipping in two assists. Genevieve Russell also notched an assist.

 

Western boys tennis sweeps Powhatan

Western Albemarle’s boys tennis team hosted Powhatan Wednesday night and in a complete effort swept all but two matches against the Indians.
