Albemarle’s girls soccer team rolled Thursday night to an 8-0 victory over Orange County.
The Patriots got goals from six different scorers in the win, including Sunny Gelnovatch and Jazzy Laredo. Carmen Thomas also had a goal to go with two assists, freshman Madison Kersey had two goals on just two shots, Leticia Freitas had two goals and an assist and Megan Schnell scored once and notched three assists.
Gracie Williams had an assist too for the Patriots.
The Patriots (6-0-1, 5-0 Jefferson) play Powhatan Monday. Orange (0-6-1) plays Louisa County Monday.
Albemarle girls tennis grabs win
The Albemarle girls tennis team stayed unbeaten with a 7-2 win over Orange County Thursday night, overcome a pair of losses at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the singles ladder to secure the win.
