Western Albemalre’s Ellen Shaffrey put together her first rock big night of the year — and odds are good it won’t be her last.
Shaffrey’s 22 points, five rebounds and three steals helped lead the Warriors past Albemarle 47-32.
The win pushes Western to 5-1 on the year. The Warriors forced 13 steals as a team in the victory, with Shaffrey leading the category. Carolyn Schneller had eight points and seven boards to help Western out underneath with Raven Ward’s eight boards and Mady Baker’s five rounding out the effort on the glass.
Kelsey Swanson dished out six assists while Sydney Fewell had three of her own to go with her two steals.
Western will travel Friday to take on Monticello High.
