Facing Isabelle Travis out of Forest Park, Albemarle junior Megan Napolitano earned the Northwest Region singles title on Wednesday at UVa.
Napolitano came back from an early deficit to take the first set 6-3 before battling with Park in the second set to a tie breaker. Although the second set was tight, the tie breaker was not as the top of the Patriots ladder cruised 7-1.
In doubles play, Napolitano and Abby Lesnoff took on Loudoun Valley’s Julia Jacangelo and Kayla Sweet. The Albemarle teammates handled the Vikings in both sets, winning 6-2, 6-2 to earn a match in the finals against Stafford’s Annie Moncure and Kathleen Gayle.
