Monticello boys lacrosse rolls past Fauquier

Monticello High’s boys lacrosse team picked up a solid 12-6 win Friday in the squad’s final game before West Central Division play starts.

The Mustangs’ Chase Phillips put together another big-time performance, ringing up nine total points with six goals three assists.

Goalie George Van Dyke led the defensive effort with 12 saves.

William Snipes picked up a hat trick for Monticello. Brodie Phillips had a goal and an assist while Tyler Wagner and Colin Price each had a goal. Jack Lee’s two assists and Pierce English’s one helper rounded out the scorer.

The Mustangs will try and keep the momentum going Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in a crucial West Central matchup against Charlottesville at home.
