Western Albemarle’s girls soccer team certainly hasn’t shied away from scheduling tough out-of-district opponents and a game against potential state title contender Jefferson Forest showed that isn’t changing any time soon.
The Warriors fell Saturday at home against Jefferson Forest 3-2, rallying to even it up at 2-2 midway through the second half before Cassidy Ratliff scored her second goal of the game for JFHS with just 1:33 to play.
Western was down 2-0 at the break to Jefferson Forest after Ratliff and Katie Cousins (off a Ratliff assist) scored in the first half.
Fiona Fittro and Nichole Heon scored early in the second half to create a 2-2 deadlock.
Western will look to bounce back against Louisa County on Tuesday.
