Former Albemarle track star breaking records again

It was just 11 months ago that Albemarle’s 4×800 relay squad of Zach Vrhovac, Bradley Garrett, Luke Noble and Anthony Kostelac took the track and field world by storm by shattering a junior world record at the Boston Indoor Championship.

Well Vrhovac is at it again, this time as a freshman at the University of Virginia.

In Blacksburg at the Hokie Invitational, the former Patriot, along with teammates Alex Bowman, Sintayehu Taye and Robby Andrews crushed Rector Field House’s facility record by a posting a combined time of 7:26.49. The time broke the previous record held by North Carolina and set in 200 by more than 11 seconds. The time is also just three seconds shy of UVa’s school record.
