Fork Union edges Woodberry Forest

Xavier Holland only scored seven points but for Fork Union Tuesday afternoon against Woodberry Forest, but three of them were about as critical as they get.

With eight seconds to play and FUMA down by two, Holland hit a bucket and drew a foul. He buried the free throw and gave the Blue Devils a 52-51 victory over the Tigers.

FUMA got some big time production underneath with Kion Brown finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Woodberry guards C.J. Prosise and James Long handled the bulk of the scoring for the Tigers with 12 points by Prosise and a game-high 13 from Long at the point.

Woodberry will try and bounce back at the Mercer Invitational this weekend while Fork Union goes on break before returning to action January 7 against St. Anne’s-Belfield.
