Fluvanna girls outlast Western Albemarle

It wasn’t pretty by any means but with a Taty Turner bucket late, Fluvanna County girls basketball held on for a 30-28 road win over Western Albemarle.

The Warriors and Flucos played to a virtual stalemate, with Fluvanna up just 10-8 at halftime with five of Aniah Webb’s team-high 15 points for the night helping the Flucos snag a slight advantage. Ava Ewen hit a pair of 3-pointers before the break and finished with nine points.
Kayleigh Long led Western with 10 on the night.

Turner managed to shake off a tough night at the free throw line and scored seven of her 10 points after the half including the gamewinner late at the buzzer to win it.

The Flucos and Warriors both face a quick turnaround as Fluvanna takes on Louisa County Wednesday while Western hosts Albemarle.
