CHS girls soccer rolls past Monticello

Charlottesville’s girls soccer team managed to stay unbeaten in Jefferson District play Monday night, topping another district title contender, Monticello, 3-0 at home.

The Black Knights took the attack to the Mustangs all night, out shooting Monticello 19-7. Abigail Intolubbe Chmil, Ellie Von Storch and Mary Hemenway all manage to slip goals past the Mustangs with Althea Pickering and Kelli Wisbauer chipping in on assists.

Charlottesville keeper Emily Thomas registered six saves on the night for the Black Knights while Monticello goalie Deanna Ballard gave the Mustangs a fighting chance with 10 saves between the pipes.

Charlottesville now sits at 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the JD while Monticello is 5-3 and 4-2. The Black Knights host Fluvanna Thursday and the Mustangs take a week off before hosting William Monroe Monday.
