Charlottesville girls soccer knocks off Harrisonburg

Charlottesville’s girls soccer squad got going in the first half and Harrisonburg never managed to provide an answer Monday night at home as the Black Knights picked up a 3-1 victory for the squad’s third victory in four games to start the year.

The Black Knights scored twice in the opening half, building a 2-0 lead before the break. Charlottesville maintained a barrage of shots throughout, unleashing 28 shots for the game to Harrisonburg’s six total attempts.

Kaitlyn Cost had a hand in all three goals for the Black Knights, scoring two of them and assisting on a finish by Karina Hange. Abigail Intolubbe-Chmil assisted on both of Cost’s goals to round out the scoring for the Black Knights.

Charlottesville returns to action Wednesday against Kettle Run.
