Charlottesville’s girls soccer squad got going in the first half and Harrisonburg never managed to provide an answer Monday night at home as the Black Knights picked up a 3-1 victory for the squad’s third victory in four games to start the year.
The Black Knights scored twice in the opening half, building a 2-0 lead before the break. Charlottesville maintained a barrage of shots throughout, unleashing 28 shots for the game to Harrisonburg’s six total attempts.
Kaitlyn Cost had a hand in all three goals for the Black Knights, scoring two of them and assisting on a finish by Karina Hange. Abigail Intolubbe-Chmil assisted on both of Cost’s goals to round out the scoring for the Black Knights.
Charlottesville returns to action Wednesday against Kettle Run.
