Champion Mountaineer squad to participate in DARE basketball game

It’s the cops against the school. And sandwiched in between will be the state champs.

The fourth annual DARE basketball game with take place in Madison County at Wetsel gym on May 6th at 7 p.m where members of the county’s law enforcement will take the court against the MCHS staff in a fundraiser. All of the proceeds will go to the Madison County’s Sheriff Office DARE program.

During halftime of the event there will be a dunk and 3-point contest that involves a handful of players from the Group A Division 1 champion Mountaineer basketball team. The team will be in uniform and children will have a chance to take the court and play along side the title winners. In addition to the basketball, some of the county’s emergency service vehicles will be on display outside.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for anyone under the age of 18.
