Buckingham stomps Strasburg, moves to regional semis

Buckingham’s formula continues to chug along. The Knights let Taylor Boyers do most of the heavy lifting and got a scoring punch from Harry Eldridge and Tarian Ayers, and let B.J. Jones set the table.

In short, they did what they’ve continued to do all year, no matter who takes the floor against them.

Boyers had 17 points and 14 rebounds as the Knights took care of business against Strasburg in the Region B, Division 2 quarterfinals, winning 53-33 largely on the strength of a 17-point second quarter that gave Buckingham an 11 point lead going into the half.

Eldridge and Ayers had 10 and 11 points respectively, while Jones dished out eight assists and committed just four turnovers while scoring six points. Jones also had three steals.

Buckingham faces another Bull Run District member Thursday when they take on Clarke County at Cumberland High in the semifinals for a state quarterfinal berth, just minutes down the road from the Knights.
