Buckingham soccer explodes past Amelia

Buckingham traveled to Amelia Monday afternoon to try and maintain an undefeated season.

The Knights did just that with a dominating 9-1 victory of Ameila.

Peter Johnson’s hat trick led the way in the win where Buckingham leapt out to a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Buckingham started out slow with its first goal not coming until the 22nd minute. But a scoring barrage followed with goals by Buckingham coming in the 24th, 27th, 32nd and the 39th.

Buckingham went on to score in the 50th, 54th and 69th and then the final goal came in the 78th minute.

Marco Kneczevic, Bobby Dandrdige and Mike Amos all had two-goal games for the Knights. Buckingham now sits at 5-0-1 in the James River District and faces Cumberland Wednesday afternoon at home.
