Basketball Roundup: McDonald reaches 1,000 points, Albemarle sweeps Fluvanna

Charlottesville’s Destinee McDonald has been a fixture at point guard for several years, a slasher who has a knack for scoring. She shares the scoring load with the prolific Alajiah Ragland, but McDonald has made a habit of exploding and putting up big numbers while also running the offense and getting everyone involved. Those explosions combined with a consistent output each night are what made Tuesday possible.

McDonald notched her 1,000th career point against Powhatan on the road as the Black Knights beat the Indians 64-31.

McDonald had 13 points in the effort while Zanequa Thomas finished with 16, Ragland had 12 and Tierenni Younger had 10.
