Area standouts earn All-American, Academic All nods for boys and girls lacrosse

The 2012 U.S. Lacrosse All-American lacrosse awards are out, and several Virginia-Piedmont region athletes earned the honor

On the boys side, five seniors from the region that includes all of Virginia except Northern Virginia made the cut, including two from the local area. On the girls side, two locals earned All-American honors.

A slew of local girls earned Academic All-American nods as did one local. Here’s the complete list
