Albemarle girls tennis sweeps Louisa

Albemarle’s girls tennis team made short work of Louisa County in the Patriots’ first match as a member of the Jefferson District Friday.

The Patriots, in what was their season opener, rolled 9-0 with senior Kaitlyn Grossman’s gritty 10-8 win at No. 1 over the Lions’ Liz Kronander leading the way.

Albemarle, in the process of replacing the squad’s top three seeds from 2013, picked up wins at all three spots with Maddie Williamson and Molly Napolitano snagging victories.

Albemarle will take on Orange County on the road Monday.
