After a power outage cut short Albemarle’s girls tennis team’s season opener against Colonial Forge with the Eagles leading 4-2, Albemarle needed to bounce back in its first ever clash with a newly-minted member of the Commonwealth District, Orange County.
The Patriots rebounded.
Albemarle rolled 9-0 over the Hornets, facing tough challenge at No. 4 singles where Molly Napolitano battled for an 11-9 victory over Rebecca Eichmann to preserve the sweep.
Albemarle will host Masaponax Friday at 5 p.m. in another Commonwealth District clash.
