Albemarle’s girls tennis team scored another in a series of 9-0 victories on the road against North Stafford on Tuesday.
The Patriots (9-1) started with convincing wins in singles with junior Megan Napolitano, senior Tori Kuhn, and senior Yvonne Zhang all pulling off wins with scores of 10-0. Juniors Abby Lesnoff, Maddi McCullough, and Summer Caton won against their opponents as well despite having several changes in the normal line-up.
“I thought we played well,” Zhang said. “We know we have a bulls eye on our back…and the other teams out there are always getting better.”
In doubles, Napolitano and Kuhn’s teamwork gave them an impressive victory at the No. 1 spot 10-0. Doubles pairs No. 2 and No. 3 also snagged wins with slightly different pairings. Vicky Zarate and Caroline Chisholm played at No. 3. Albemarle will get a much-deserved day off Wednesday before their next match at home against Mountain View on Thursday.
