Albemarle girls soccer beats Orange

Albemarle’s girls soccer team beat Orange 8-1 Thursday night, playing on Monticello’s turf in an attempt to get a game in after snow again threw off the spring schedule.

A huge night from Ali Starr led the way for the Patriots as she blasted in three goals and dished out three assists. McKenna Rohm also finished with two goals for the Patriots while Anne Brady had a goal and an assist.

Arianna Decorte and Victoria Higginbottom each had a goal while Jazzy Laredo and Caroline Keller notched an assist each.

Albemarle took 36 shots on the night, and Orange keeper Rebecca Harvey managed to smother 24 of them for the Hornets.

Albemarle heads into spring break now. They’ll return to the field April 7 to take on Fluvanna at home.
