Albemarle girls lacrosse falls to St. Catherine’s

Albemarle’s girls lacrosse team hasn’t been shy about testing itself this year, scheduling stout competition for its out-of-division schedule. That continued Friday night as the Patriots clashed with St. Catherine’s and while Albemarle fell, they took the Saints to the brink, falling 23-20 Wednesday night.

Ida Farinholt led the offensive attack for the Saints with five goals and an assist.

Albemarle got big-time performances from Ryann Murray who rang up seven goals and two assists and Connor Carson who had five goals and two assists

Carolyn Chapman also got in on the act, with three goals and an assist. Hanna Shaps had a pair of goals for the Patriots.

Albemarle goalie Kelsey Rund managed 14 saves on the night for the Patriots who are now 2-2 and face Western Albemarle Friday night on the road in a crucial West Central Division clash.
