Offense wasn’t a problem for Albemarle’s girls lacrosse squad Thursday night.

Not by a long shot.

Albemarle poured in 21 goals to roll to a 21-13 victory over Patrick Henry out of Roanoke, building a 10-5 lead by the break and never looking back.

Connor Carson led the way for the Patriots with seven goals and an assist while teammates Kristen Mendelsohn and Ryann Murray had a hat trick each. Carolyn Chapman chipped in with a pair of goals too and six other Patriots scored one goal a piece.

Mendelsohn also dished out two assists and Chapman had a helper of her own.

Patrick Henry’s Catherine Vance matched Carson’s output with seven goals and an assist of her own, but the Patriots couldn’t answer Albemarle’s scoring depth to make it a close one.

Albemarle dominated in shots, unleashing 38 to Patrick Henry’s 21.  The Patriots’ Nikki Ross finished with six saves.

Albemarle is now 3-0 and plays on the road next against Douglas Freeman Wednesday.
