William Monroe girls basketball went to work right away Tuesday night, jumping out to a 20-point lead over Warren County in the first quarter that they never looked back from in a 72-22 blowout victory.
The Dragons didn’t slow down in the second quarter, scoring 20 points in the second frame to build a 44-11 lead at the break. Ella Weaver’s 14 points and Hailey Morris’ 13 points led the way in that opening half, with Morris knocking down three 3-pointers before the break.
Weaver led the Dragons (4-0) with 22 points, seven boards and five assists, Chloe Rush with 13 points and 10 boards, Hailey Morris with 19 points and Iyanna Carey with nine points, nine boards and four assists in the win.
Kayla Britton chipped in five points and three boards while Mia Johnson had four points and four rebounds.
The Dragons will hit the road against Brentsville Friday.
