Western boys lacrosse sprints past Monacan

Western Albemarle’s boys lacrosse team made quick work of Monacan Tuesday night, rolling 25-0 in the Region 3C quarterfinals.

 

Jack Reichert and Sam Stalfort had six goals to ignite the Warriors, with Stalfort also notching four assists and Reichert dishing out two. Jack Weyher also had a huge night for the Warriors with a hat trick and eight assists.

 

Smith Callaghan finished with a hat trick and an an assist while Mark Finn Kattman had one goal and one assist.

 

The Warriors held a 19-6 advantage on face-offs and keepers Will Stalfort and Ben Kunkel combined for nine saves. Stalfort also scored a goal while Edgar Batcheller chipped in two goals.

 

The Warriors advance to the region semifinals where they’ll host Hanover Thursday at 6 p.m.
