Albemarle girls soccer’s freshmen are making some early noise.
The Patriots’ made short work of Brooke Point Monday night, rolling 8-0 in the squad’s home opener with freshman Madeline St. Amand notching her first career hat trick to lead the way while classmate Reilly Bonham scored a goal and dished out three assists.
In addition to the ninth graders shining, junior Savannah Alexander had a big-time game and got the scoring started with the first goal a little more than midway through the first half. Senior Maggie McMullan also notched a goal and Kora Jillions scored twice to round out the goals. Lauren McDonald, Ashley Snider and Avery Dougald each dished out an assist while the Patriots’ defense maintained a shutout.
Albemarle will look to make it three in a rown when they travel to take on Louisa County in the Patriots’ Jefferson District opener.
