Albemarle’s boys basketball’s team exploded against Patrick Henry-Roanoke out of the gate Friday night in the new-look Patriots’ first home game of the season en route to a 66-50 victory.
Albemarle poured in 27 first quarter points to take a 10-5 lead and then built it to a 27-10 advantage and held on from there, withstanding runs by PH-Roanoke for the rest of the game to move to 2-0 on the season.
Albemarle’s J’Quan Anderson finished with 16 points, five assists and five steals while Na’il Arnold scored 12 points including a monster early dunk and pulled down seven boards.
The Patriots will host Harrisonburg Wednesday night.
