Albemarle’s golf team had to hold off a hard charge from Charlottesville to do it, but the Patriots won the Jefferson District Tournament Monday at Glenmore County Club.

The Patriots carded a 313 to pick up the win, with Jack Bruns leading the way with a 75. Robert Brozey put together a solid round too with a 76 while Ryan Porter shot an 80 and Jack Kelly finished with an 82 to round out the Patriots’ win.

Charlottesville took second as a team with a 316 while they’re dynamic tandem of A.J. Stouffer and Zach Russell shared the individual title, finishing with a 69 each. That’s Stouffer’s second district tournament title while Russell has won or shared the title the last four years. Rob Walker’s 86 and Beau LeBlond’s 92 complete the Black Knights’ effort.

Monticello’s Tyler Walker finished with a 74 to take third overall and lead the Mustangs to a third place finish as a team with a 320, just seven strokes off the Patriots’ championship pace. Jake Huffman notched a 79 while Jeb Horn had an 82 and Whittfield Bradley had an 85.

Western Albemarle’s Nathan Vance tied for fourth overall individually with Brozey with a 75 and helped boost the Warriors to a fourth place 329, with Bryan O’Day posting an 82 while Andrew Yancey had an 84 and Sarah Gemeny had an 88.

Louisa County took fifth with a 331, Fluvanna finished sixth with a 368, Powhatan finished with a 376 in seventh and Orange County finished eighth with a 392.
