Albemarle boys lacrosse edges Mills Godwin in overtime

Albemarle’s boys lacrosse team needed something to happen down a pair of goals headed into the fourth quarter at home against Mills Godwin Wednesday night.

 

They got it, reeling off four fourth quarter goals and then scoring in overtime to snag a 12-11 victory.

 

Lorenz Brown led the offensive assault with four goals and an assist while Silas Beers also rang up four goals. Andrew Scanlon scored twice and dished out an assist and Samuel Mallow chipped in two assists. Cooper Cramer and Connor Warner each had a goal.

 

Ryan Richardson stuffed 11 Mills Godwin shots in the cage.

 

Albemarle held a solid advantage on ground balls, leading 36-22 in that category and held a 15-11 edge on faceoffs.  

 

Collin Beebe led Mills Godwin with four goals, one assist. William Abbott notched three goals and an assist while Garrett Keogh and Nicolaas Pontorno each had two goals.
