Woodberry Forest boys beat Fork Union for fifth-straight win

 

Woodberry Forest boys basketball’s wild week came to close with a fifth-straight win and a third Prep League victory just this week as the Tigers went on the road to beat Fork Union 60-43.

 

The Tigers beat St. Anne’s-Belfield and St. Christopher’s earlier this week, getting critical wins to move up the Prep League standings ahead of next week’s’ Prep League tournament.

 

Dequece Carter led the Tigers with 18 points, 10 of which came in the first quarter where he hit three 3-pointers. Max Johns continued his string of big-time games, scoring 15 points, 11 of them in the first half.

 

Will Wideman chipped in eight points for the Tigers.

 

Michael Cunningham led the Blue Devils with 16 points while Jonathan Illori scored 10.

 

Both Fork Union and Woodberry will jump into Prep League tournament play.
