William Monroe golf is heading back to the state tournament.
The Dragons won the Region 3A East crown Monday at the Golf Club at Brickshire, posting a 309 as a team to edge out runner-up Loudoun Valley.
Logan Yates led the way for Monroe with a 75 that was good for fifth place individually in the tournament. Behind him, Yancey Harrison carded a 76, Austin Crenshaw brought home a 77 and Jared Shifflett rounded out the scoring with an 81.
Loudoun Valley took second with individual champion Brandon Weaver (72) and Adam Lockhart (74) setting the pace. Kettle Run took third while New Kent finished fourth.
The Dragons will head to the Ivy Hill Golf Club in Forest for the Group 3A championships, scheduled for October 13 and 14.
