William Monroe picked up its third district win of the year with an 8-4 win against Monticello. Sophomore Jordan Gentry picked up the win on the mound, going six innings while allowing three runs and striking out five.
The bottom part of the line up was instrumental in the win as Dustin Forloines and Cody Thacker each picked up two hits and six RBI between them.
R.J. Davis provided early offense for the Mustangs with a long shot to left field.
William Monroe (4-9 overall, 3-4 district) travels to Louisa on Friday, 7 p.m.
