Western girls lacrosse coasts past Hanover

Western Albemarle’s girls lacrosse team snagged its first win of the year Wednesday night, beating Hanover 13-6.

 

Audrey Russell poured in four goals for Western while Kira Repich and Hanna Schuler each finished with two goals. Joie Funk, Anna Kreienbaum, Ann Carter Sipe, Marlena Flynn and Genevieve Russell scored one goal each.

 

Reid Ferguson dished out two assists while Mady Starsia had an assist.

 

The Warriors jumped out to a 10-0 lead at halftime. Catherine Adams and Ava Divita combined for seven saves in goal.

 

Brenna Everette led Hanover with four goals.

 

The Warriors travel Friday to face Douglas Freeman at 7:30 p.m.
