STAB girls lacrosse rolls past Western Albemarle

Western Albemarle’s girls lacrosse team hasn’t shied away from tough scheduling, and Tuesday they ran into a buzzsaw that’s been picking up steam for a few weeks now in St. Anne’s-Belfield.

STAB rolled to a 22-4 win.

The Saints exploded offensively with STAB’s dynamic scoring trio pouring in goals. Annie Cory led the way with nine goals, McKenzie Maurer scored six goals and Caroline DiGiacomo notched four goals.

Elizabeth Carden finished with two goals and Catherine Carden and Maddie Hunter each had a goal to round out the Saints scoring.

Carlin Maurer and DiGiacomo had two assists each while Catherine and Elizabeth Carden had one each.

Mady Starsia scored two goals to lead Western with Kira Repich and Kate Snyder each scoring a goal.

Western will travel to take on Fluvanna Wednesday evening while the Saints have a crucial Thursday battle at 5 p.m. against Trinity Episcopal.
