St. Anne’s-Belfield’s girls basketball jumped into the season with the Flint Hill Tip Off tournament and the Saints left with some hardware, beating the host Huskies 64-32 to win the tournament title.
Four Saints scored in double figures with Bri Tinsley pouring in 25 points to lead the way and wrap up tournament MVP honors with five steals and five assists for good measure. Jayla Davis had 13 points and six steals while Sierra Smith posted a double double of 10 points and 14 points with both earning All-Tournament team honors. Vanessa Woodfolk had 12 points and five steals on the night as the sophomore continues her emergence.
STAB had 23 steals as a team on the night. The Saints (3-0) host Virginia Episcopal Tuesday.
