Spring Roundup 4.12.16: Fluvanna girls soccer, AHS boys soccer pick up wins

Albemarle’s boys soccer team put together a solid performance Monday, rolling 7-2 over Monticello to snag a Jefferson District victory.

Brandon Mahon and Eliya Budugure each scored two goals while Brendan Moyers, Arslan Kadirov and Jake Gelnovatch notched a goal each to round out the scoring.

Budugure also had an assist while Robert Palma and Andrew Weber each had two assists. Jordan Parks and Matt Balcells also had an assist a piece.

Thomas Leckrone and Matt Booth combined for four saves in goal for the Patriots.

 

Goochland baseball beats Nottoway handily

 

With a monster night from Tanner Bradshaw, Goochland baseball beat Nottoway 18-0 Monday.

Bradshaw had six RBI on his two home runs, blasting a grand slam and a two-run shot. Jeb Anderson ripped a pair of triples for the Bulldogs.
Goochland softball falls in close one

 

Goochland’s softball team engaged in a tight pitcher’s duel with Nottoway Monday night, with Nottoway edging the Bulldogs for a 1-0 win in extra innings.

The Bulldogs surrendered a one-out triple to Chloe Garrett in the 11th, then Garrett scored on a wild strike three pitch to give Nottoway the win. Nottoway’s Hannah Hudson struck out 13 in the circle.

 

Fluvanna girls soccer blows past Orange

 

Fluvanna County girls soccer beat Orange County 9-1 Monday night to snag a Jefferson District victory.

Lindsay Price poured in a hat trick for the Flucos while Cyan Coates scored twice. Kate Stutz, Lydia Reynard, Jackie Davis and Madi Nazar each scored a goal.

 

Albemarle boys tennis beats Louisa

 

The Albemarle boys tennis team returned to action following spring break and posted a 7-2 win over an improving Louisa program.

Goochland’s girls tennis team gutted out a hard fought 5-4 victory over Randolph Henry Monday night. With the win, Goochland stays unbeaten, moving to 6-0 on the year.
