Spring Roundup 3.31.16: Western boys lacrosse, Western softball pick up wins

Western Albemarle’s boys lacrosse team made short work of Monticello Wednesday night, rolling 17-3 over the Mustangs with a dominant face-off performance fueling the Warriors’ offense.

Jack Loffredo won 14 of the 17 faceoffs he took for the Flucos and Western held a 16 to 23 overall advantage on faceoffs on the night. That sparked the offense where James Buetow and A.J. Donnovan poured in four goals each, while Loffredo notched a hat trick. John Haden and Oliver Herndon scored twice each to round out the bulk of the scoring. Stephen Kuzjak and Trevor Persico had a goal each with Persico also dishing out three assists.

Bryan Young scored twice for Monticello.
